Commit text changes shortcut
Submitted by Ivan on Wed, 2005-07-06 06:32.
When you're working with text in Photoshop you may lose changes because you're in the Flash/Illustrator habit of hitting Esc to 'get out' of editing mode with the text tool (while saving changes).
You probably know there's the little "Commit current edit" check mark in the properties toolbar or alternatively, you can switch from the text tool to the V tool, but if you're looking for a shortcut you can just press Apple(Cmd)-Enter to commit changes.

Thank you! I probably could
Thank you! I probably could have found this shortcut a while ago but didn't. I really need to remember that, I'm always wanting to avoid having to go up and click the check mark.
You can just hit...
You can just hit enter and it will also work (not return that will break the line) but enter (in the bottom right corner of your keyboard)
Was about to say this
When I first read this tip, that's the first thing I thought of.
Hitting the enter button on your keyboard number pad does this :-)

Wow! What a great solution!
Wow! What a great solution! Quite simple, quite cool.
;)
"lose" not "loose"
"you may loose changes" should be "lose" not "loose"
I use an old trick my grammar teacher taught us way back when:
desert = dry, water less place
dessert = yummy treat after a meal
desert has one "s" - I hope I never have to cross more than one desert!
dessert has two - everyone likes 2 desserts!
"lose" has one "O" --- I hope to never "lose" more than one thing
"loose" has two... Everyone likes two loose (insert noun of your choice here)
common typo, minor nit.... great, useful site.
Thanks!
(feel free to delete this comment after the typo is fixed)

On a Powerbook [at least mine, a G4 17in 1.5ghz], the Enter key is in between the Apple [Command] key and the arrow Pad on the right side of the keyboard.
I have become accustomed to using it in Photoshop for "Commit" and often hit the option key on a regular keyboard when using a tower.
