Photoshop CS2 Question: Selecting Layers
futurephonic (10 points) | Wed, 2005-09-14 15:52Working with Photoshop CS2 I learned that you can Command-Click (or Control-Click) an object in your document, and it selects that object's layer.
But, if you place your layers in folders then it no longer jumps to the object's layer, but instead selects the folder's layer. Since I organize my layers into folders I am losing this much needed feature.
Anyone know a way around this? Is there an alternate key combination or setting to fix this?

You could try right clicking then selecting the object, that always works for me.

Yes, except when you have 30 layers it can be hard to tell which one is the one you want. The Control-Click is more like working in Illustrator, and is really fast.
stupid q to add to that, how do you go up and down layers via keyboard ?

I usually use:
Ascend through Layers Alt+]
Descend through Layers Alt+[
Select Top Layer Shift+Alt+]
Select Bottom Layer Shift+Alt+[
This skips up and down visible layers.
