Photoshop experts - Help with color changing frog!!!!
ItalianMike (299 points) | Mon, 2006-02-13 15:06I'm hoping someone can explain to me what is going on here.
I received a logo type from a client, for whom I made some short promo films. The files they gave me were a weird format (.eps) but I was able to open them in Photoshop and convert them to .psd files which have worked perfectly in the regular video project.
However, I wanted to put their logo on my website to promote the work I just did for them. So I tried to convert the logo into a .gif file, when I did this the logo (which is a frog) turned from red to orange. I then tried to save it as a .jpg this appeared to let it retain it's true color, or so I thought.
If you open my homepage (www.infinite-style.com) in Safari, you will see this frog logo in the color it should be. If you open it in Firefox (1.5) then the frog appears in this orange color.
I've had this problem in the past with another picture that originated as a strange format.
Does anyone know what I can do in Photoshop to make sure it stays using it's real color?

The link you provided is coming up with an orange frog on my end in Safari.
Maybe you need to refresh the page or clear your cache if you were swapping colors previously.

It's the color profile you're using. Safari will recognize and use an ICC color profile if it sees one in an image. Firefox and others will ignore the profile, which is why you see the color fluctuation.
I see a slight variation of colour, but nothing too drastic. The black looks darker from one browser to another.
And on another note, I laughed when you said you had a weird format file, being an EPS. EPS is possibly one of the most universal file formats in graphic design, so it's kinda funny you found it weird.
