Question: Which version did you start with?
(I started with Photoshop 3.0)

I started with 2.5 which didn't even have Layers. I remember agonising over each edit before clicking that brush tool. I never even thought that there was anything strange about it till 3.0 came along and I had that eureka moment.Layers!!!Now why didn't I think of that....

I started with V3. So I missed out on the pre-layers era. Though, as dependent as I am on layers, I can't say I would really miss it.

So long ago that I can't remember but pretty sure it was 2.5. To be honest as a typography student it sucked big time. Text was fixed once you released to the layer. There was no room for error in those days.

For me PhotoShop is one of the few pieces of software that just gets better and better. Others need to be built from the ground up to make decent leaps, but they just keep adding to PS and it gets better and better. I wish Illy was like that, but apart from the features it just seems to get worse and more unstable.

I can't remember which version i started with exactly but I do know that it was pre v1. I think I still have it on a couple of floppies at home!

I think I started on 4.0. I can't be the only one right?
But I was still pretty young (and clueless) back then and basically used it to um... doodle!

think it was 4.0 those were back in the days of pagemaker too, life is so much better today.

Kind of makes you think how cool all those old posters from the 20's and 30's were and even up until there was even a computer. Wonder what people like Tschichold or Matter would have designed today with the tools we have.

Most of you guys are old-school compared to me.

I started with Photoshop 5 about 3(?) years ago when I was 15 years old :)

This really brings me back.

And remember how incredibly long it took for PageMaker to have the ability to be able to open more than one file at a time?

I started with v2 (not quite sure, maybe with 2.5) on Mac - but also saw version 1 working :-))
At that time Comodore Amiga was also popular and it was possible to run Mac emulator on that fabulous computer - uselessly, in fact, but we learned a lot that way.

Nulla dies sine linea.

I think it was 4, maybe 5.

But started w/ Illustrator 88 and Aldus Pagemaker when it fit on a single sided floppy. Oh yeah, my little mac with that tiny screen, didn't have any hard drive! Just switched the floppies around.
