Please help a newbie out: Portfolio questions

Sorry I do ask lots of questions and I did do a search before I ask this but because of my lack of background education in college (I majored in Business), I have a few questions regarding portfolio (hardcopy).

1. If you've created business cards, brochures, 24x37" posters or other works, do you bring the actual work or do you take pictures or use imaging tools to crop it and put it in a presentational format inside your book/portfolio?

2. What is the best paper and print method to get the highest quality print? I used matte heavy stock paper to print out my 17x11" but I think I can do better than this. I want it really sharp and crisp as possible like I see it on screen.

3. Do you leave behind anything? Business card? A printed material?

1. Shrink to fit either letter size or tabloid size paper
2. Brilliant white is usually best to make your images as crisp as they can be
3. Leave behind your resume, most likely. Probably not a business card if you are applying for a job; only for freelance/contract work.
