insanely cool. Thanks a lot for sharing. Just tried it and it DOES work. I didn't think it would be possible to do it. Amazing.
Dragging the sample car in IE 5.5 didn't work, but it's not related to PNG.
i found this page some time ago while browsing digg.com, i was searcing for it! thank you very much! hope i can make it work
funny how this has been availible since 2004 and its not been made something like a "must have" tip on sites like alistapart etc.... Thank goodness that we now know this nice IE Behaviour Script. :)

alisatpart actually did have an article about png and in the comments it had that link, it also had links to other sites that said how to fix the png background in IE (win)
Unfortunately if you make sure that png backgrounds work in IE then the links in the objects with the png background wont work :(
I prefer using PNG Behavior, it doesn't use javascript so it still works even if they have javascript turned off. This is also has been around for a while.

.. with that method dont you have to apply it to every image that you want to be effected?

No you don't have to. In your css style, you define every image to use that behavior. Every png image you use will be affected.

You can't use it on background-image in CSS. It only works on regular img tags. Still, it's better than no support at all.
you can there is another hack for it.
But unfortunately if you have links in the elements that have the png background then they will not work.
I've been using this hack for some time now and links do work if you make it a 1 pixel tall repeating background image. (well for the hack I use it works):
Here are some examples from sites my company and I have done:
