Popup window in Flash No-Go in Safari
kenyabob (303 points) | Sun, 2005-08-07 07:00At the following page that I have made, the flash has a bit of extra code, so that when you hit the gallery button, a second, larger window appears. I followed Macromedia's instructions on the matter and it works succesfully in Firefox and IE 6. Safari doesn't load a damn thing. Any ideas?

I'm running into the same issue. Where you able to find a solution?
blocking your pop up windows. Go Menu-Safari-Uncheck "Block pop-up windows"
try that?

and they could be getting blocked by other users on the same browsers you used, depending on how they have things set up.
many users really hate pop up windows, so make sure you really need to have a pop up window before designing it into your interface. you'll turn off a certain number of users by default and lose a bunch of others if/when the popups don't actually show for them because of their browser settings.
btw, i'm one of those popup window haters.
p.s., the link you gave gives me a 404 error.
2005?
Why not just open a new window using target="_blank"?
