portable storage to dump digital photos on?

What should I get to dump daily images from
my canon 20?

Any good portable devices out there?

I only have about 6 gigs of CF cards.

Check these things out, made by Wolverine. I just saw one for the first time today.

They come in 40GB and 60 GB sizes.

I don't understand what you're after, apparently.

The Wolverine Professional Hard Drives are just small hard drives. Many companies make them. I thought the unique thing about the items I pointed to were that they had built-in card readers, and could run on batteries. If I were taking that many photos, I'd want the FlashPac with the built in card reader.

I use a PowerBook (laptop) and a PC Card (PCMCIA) adapter for the CF cards.

You have a lot of options. A popular one these days is the Epson P-2000. Photogs seem to be gravitating to it because of its screen size and quality. There is also the Smartdisk FlashTrax and the Nikon Coolwalker.

Finally, there is the iPod Camera Connector for the iPod, which is only $30 or so if you already have an iPod.

I have a friend that uses a Delkin eFilm Picture Pad. He says it works well.

That looks OK, John, but it seems expensive compared to what the Wolverine units offer — more storage, the ability to handle more card types, 6 GB of transfer per charge compared to <2 GB for the Delkin, Wolverine has USB 2.0 compared to Delkin's USB 1.x.

Who needs a picture preview (which the Delkin has) when you're just dumping files?

Besides that, Wolverine looks better in almost every category.
