Portfolio Layout-II
captonjohn (347 points) | Fri, 2009-09-25 14:58Another portfolio concept with slight variation. I wanted a blog also with my portfolio but here I created a intro page as home and attached blog and portfolio page on another page. Please comment.

I really love it. All of the elements work together fine, and complement your logo pretty nicely.
There is one thing that bothers me though, I don't know if it's only me, but the fact that the design is divided in two parts by the middle, makes it a little bit too symmetrical, and maybe boring, even though I like all of your elements, that really caught my eye.

Looks like a financial portfolio website for P!nk.
Much, much better. The colour is assaulting my retina but all in all lovely layout, don't forget to to correct your spelling errors.

I'm going to print it out and eat it.

Change the color up top to something more subdued and you got a real elegant design.
It's a design portfolio - what's wrong with having a bright color for it?!

To me it's not the pink color so much as it's only ONE color. It reminds me of a down and dirty job where you run spot magenta to save the cost of cleaning the press. Even a minuscule accent of another color would go a long way imo.
BTW, the "N" in the logo is backwards. Just fyi.
Pink as the bing on your cherry
Pink 'cause you are so very
Pink it's the color of passion
'Cause today it just goes with the fashion

I think that using the same color as your logo for the banner and other page elements robs your logo of its impact. Here, it's just lost in a sea of magenta. I think it would be much more effective to have the background be neutral.
