Post your requests and suggestions here

Many people asked for a forum to be able to ask questions and to get to know folks with similar interests. I tried to provide a full featured forum, but I'd like to receive your suggestions if you don't like something.

How about a stickie thread thats just useful links. I know I always benefit from a good link, and I am sure my bookmark collection could help a few others :)

How about another forum catagory, don't know what you could call it but somewhere for people to you know "hey anyone want to toss some constructive critisism about this web site / layout / magazine / etc ... I am designing"
I know I could use a lot of pointers from the more experienced of the lot.

As much as I love your color scheme... its very difficult to read the forums with the size font chosen.
Your blog is very readable and everything from a design standpoint works out there... but it doesn't carry over so well to the forums...
you've got some very keen insight, I enjoy coming to your site.

Maybe it's the resolution I'm running, but I can read it fine. Personally I like the color scheme.

first of all, where do you get all this time todo this?
2nd, i think it would be really cool if for some of your tips and tricks in PS you provide the .PSD files.

well, interestingly enough, I'm checking out the forums at work on my windows box and the forums do appear more readable.
I have 1 of the grey Apple desktop background at home on my Mac and I stole one of the blue Apple backgrounds for my background at work. So perhaps my viewing issue is just my own becuase of my lighter color bias in the Bg.
I'll change back to blue at home and see if that helps.
[quote="mrjain"]first of all,
i write the articles usually in the mornings, about stuff that came up the day before at work. on weekends i write at any time of the day, when my wife watches tv or plays with the dogs.
regarding the .PSD files, great idea! i took your advice, here you go: look at the end of the post.

Some places like 2cpu.com link the forum to the news entries: so the people would not need to be registered on blogger to post comments, but on the CBforum.
The comments would then appear on the forum... maybe in a subdivision...

Oh, I see what you're saying. That's cool. I'll see if I can manage to do that... But, I'm afraid to loose the existing comments, because some of them are really useful and give a good persepctive the problem discussed.

I'm thinking of a picture album/gallery with comments and rating, etc. Do you think it would be a good idea?

i've made some changes on the blog page sidebar.
i've improved the forum messages display. first of all the whole subject appers, without truncating it. secondly when you click the topic title the system will automatically takes you to the latest post instead of the first post in the topic. just saves an extra click.
i've removed the iChat room section. let's talk in the forum rather, it's much easier and convenient, especially because of the different time zones.
question: shall i remove the blognob? is anybody ever using it?
Need Help
Hello,
I tried to find the main contact number for this site, unfortunately I was unable. I am very interested in some of the business card designs on this site. I would like to discuss with someone who is incharge. Please email me with your phone number. I like the glassy ones. Thanks
Tarmac hurts
Ivan, is the gray theme coming back anytime soon? Tarmac hurts my eyes after a while.

I agree about this - I was very disappointed when I found out you could no longer choose the light-gray colour scheme in your profile and browse the site using that. The darker colour scheme gives me a headache.
My other suggestion would be to change the uploading requirements - having to be a member for at least a day. I'm tired of wasting time looking through critiques where the user posts a critique and never intends on coming back.

What about a rating of
What about a rating of someones work. For example if someone chooses to upload artwork to be critiqued we can have a scale of 1-10. Sort of like that website Hot or Not where you vote and then all scores are averaged out. Many people do not like to leave critiques and maybe this will still allow them to participate actively within the website. All votes would be anonymous and would be kinda fun. Just a thought...
How about a "private" forum
How about a "private" forum for members who've proven themselves? I hate to be all paranoid, but I don't like to post my freelance stuff here because I'm afraid of who may be watching... Sounds weird, right? Just a suggestion. :)
