problems with company logos in an email temaplate

hey
this is not the most interesting problem posted on this site, i know...

I've been asked to sort out a problem with our company logo when it appears in emails.

working on Mac's we use Entourange for emails and had no problem setting up a signature template which has all our details (name, address and legal blurb) but the problem has been adding in our logo. So far we have just placed a TIFF version of the logo into the template and it looks ok (but not great) on screen

but

When some people receive an email, the logo appears as a separate attachment rather than an embedded image. And if you try and print the email the logo appears very low in quality

Is there another way of creating a template at the end of an email so a logo can appear?

has anyone ever come across this kind of problem before? –

i can answer any more questions if you need any more info

Thanks!
Jez

The email client of the person receiving the messsage dictates how embedded images appear on their end. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to override their settings. Many email clients are now set to read HTML but I don't think Entourage allows you to send the message as HTML.

BTW: Use a 72 dpi .GIF or .PNG for the logo. It will be a much smaller file opposed to the .TIF and that will speed delivery.

I'd say don't attach logos to your emails if you don't have to. It's a waste of bandwidth.

Creative_NRG is on the right track, though.
