Pyramid logos

A friend of mine is convinced there is an Illuminati conspiracy in the USA and it's represented in large corporation logos. I say this is just coincidence. What do you think?

Coincidence. However, it is a bit eerie.

I love conspiracy theories.

Though it may be hard to believe if you've seen a Teabagger rally on television, America was born in (and of) the Age Of Enlightenment. Historians tend to disagree upon the influence of Freemasonry on this period of time however the guiding principles of Freemasonry and of the Enlightenment were certainly sympathtic. George Washington & Ben Franklin were members of Freemasonry and certainly men who subscribed to the humanistic ideals of the the Enlightenment.

Given this common heritage, is it so surprising Masonic symbols have a full iconic life in America outside the secret societies from which they originated?

I enjoy these sorts of theories very much but with the smallest amount of investigation such statements are always without any basis in fact or reality. I've researched several.

Still, any YouTube video with the keyword 'conspiracy' has my full attention.

Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.

Well of course the country is secretly run by the Illuminati, but the logo angle is just coincidence.

You like conspiracies, Cao? Google this...

A triangle is just a primary shape and is pretty common for that.

Any of the companies dealing with money or finances, it's easy to understand their use of the pyramid, as it's an easily recognized representation of the American dollar. (ie: Fidelity and Ameritrade).

For me, this is what I see in the rest of the logos, and really, I don't see too many actual triangles:

Xbox, I see an "X" not a pyramid.
AOL is a stylized version of a capital "A" with the "O" inside (for "America Online")
Marlboro - I always thought that was the tail end of a trimmed red ribbon.
FOX is backed by their trademark searchlights.
Caterpillar and Microsoft, I have no clue about their use of triangles.

But yes, the pyramid on the American Dollar is representative of the Freemasons.

I did a bit of research. The pyramid is NOT a masonic symbol. The pyramids were not built by freemasons. They didn't even exist at the time. The pyramid design of the dollar bill was selected by a committee of 3 people. One of them was a freemason, who suggested several other designs, he did not suggest the pyramid with the eye. The pyramid was chosen by the other two members who were not masons. The pyramid symbolized the strong foundation of the new country that is constantly work in progress. I could be wrong of course, but it seems like this is just a coincidence.
