Quark for webdesign?
PIMPTRIX (264 pencils) | Thu, 2005-06-16 23:11So I am a 100% print designer. Never really made any good webpages. The company I work for has finally decided to upgrade to quark 6.5 from 4.11 and well, I love it on the print side.
From playing with the new options, I came across the possibility to create webpages with it and I really love the feature because it seems really easy and straight forward. At the same time, I get to use all the tools I have been using up to now for print.
I was wondering how many other people use quark 6.x for webdesign? I know it has many limitations, such as I can't seem to find a way to center the design, but for simple pages, does anyone else like it?

This is a really bad idea, I'm an avid Quark user (6.5 for print) but it is in no way an up to date or capable web design application. Look to Dreamweaver if you're needing a comprehensive web design app.

The only way this is a good idea is if you're simply desiging a graphic in graphic and thats about it...
The code is bloated and very screwy (id go as far as to say is about half as bad as MS Office attempt of exporting a web page)
If you want a web page, use dreamweaver / photoshop and use css to actually put it together!

Haha. I assume you mean Xpress? Xpress is a bad idea for print design, let alone web design! InDesign is the only way to roll, big dog.
Flame away, Xpress enthusiasts/devotees.
