I just found out some really kickass Quartz Screensavers using RSS..
Really nice to have..
My favourites is the CNN World Globe which gives you RSS feed of headlines from CNN and The 20th century voyage.. I really recommend those..

Just curious?
Not Quartz per se, but I like Cavendish-- a multi-body gravity well simulation. Found it on Versiontracker, I think.
I like the CNN one.
I downloaded the .qtz files from the site you mentioned but can't get them to work. How do you load them? I tried through the screensaver pref pane but it wouldn't recognize them as screensavers.
Just put them in your library/screen savers folder..
Tried that and the pref pane either doesn't see the .qtz files or if I change the suffix to .saver it tells me there was an error loading the screensaver.
weird.
any other suggestions?
As long as you're running tiger, and the quartz files are screensavers they can be loaded in by putting them in the library folder like Tigerstorm said. I cant think why this shouldnt work, just the obvious thing of if tiger is installed :)

Goo
I'm running the metal balls one, but don't really use my screensaver that much...usually just turn the monitor off instead.

oh, it was well worth installing developers tools to get an app called "quartz composer" ... actually i did custom install and selected only some graphic softs, so no need to install all the package ...
feeling kinda dizzy at the moment since my desktop currently is that "cnn" globe without rss feeds, but lots of parameters mapped to audio input levels/freq. and mouse x/y ...
just fire up "quartz composer" and load some apple's screensavers or download them from web and study how they are made ... i don't remember when was the last time a new software has kept me up all night ... mucho fun ...
and even more fun to put those creations as desktop picture ...

So.. whats the point of having two rss input fields if none of them are pulled up in the screen saver? All I see is history dates.. which is nice, but i'd rather replace that with CURRENT news.
