Questions from a soon-to-be Photoshop CS (v.8.0) newbie
Thel (43 points) | Mon, 2004-08-09 02:20Hi All,
I've used Photoshop for years, but only the older versions (up thru 4.0.1), in the classic OSes and within X's Classic mode. I'm planning to upgrade, and have downloaded the 8.0 demo, but I haven't installed it yet. Is anyone able to tell me whether the Altivec Core and Scripting plug-ins, which 7.0 required, will need to be added? Or are they included with Photoshop CS 8.0? (My newer machine is a May 2003 1 GHz G4 eMac Combo model, 640 MB RAM, running Panther 10.3.4.)
Thanks to anyone who can offer me a ride on the Clue Train,
Thel <--(slowly-but-surely getting X-ified here) :-)

I think you don't need to install anything besides the application itself. At least not that I'm aware of. Go ahead, try it out, you'll be pleasantly surprised if v.4 was the version you used last. Your eMac will run it nicely!
Thanks, Ivan, I'll be diving in later this week!
