I think gwell's idea with sunburst inside the circular part of the key is worth of try. Maybe I'll try it later. I just tried to sketch it on the paper and I see it could be nice too. I'll see.
Leaky Penny your suggestion for the number 1 can work but only if one part is gray. Or if I'll use white stroke around city silhouette, but I didn't like that.

your sunbursts are way too
your sunbursts are way too spiky. they're very distracting. and i'm still concerned about the detail in your skyline. have you printed this out at less than .5" high yet? remember, this would need to work on a business card or in the footer of a document.
