I like all of them (except the bottom one and the one one left).
The 4th one (on the right, middle) Really works well with the illustration imo, but Im wondering if 'impact' is really the right font? It feels like it needs something a little chunkier.
Great logos, love the microphone drawing - real nice :D
Top right, middle right and bottom logos work very well for me. Well done. Each carries a bit different tonality, so your friend will be able to choose which one is closer to his heart. Your firend should be happy with these options.
The very bottom one has a very smooth 39 and everything else looks like it just went through an earthquake...To much contrast and to many typfaces to sit well with me.
The top ones are nice but the first ones box is not working well for me. I think the mic is what really brings it down. It makes it look like a logo with a piece of clipart slapped into the middle. Possibly just remove the mic completely from that logo? Or you could always convert the box into the mic-head but I'm not sure how that would come out.
The top right is nice looking, I just feel the mic sits to much on top of the type. Because of the angle the mic has I feel it should sit a little lower like it is actually sitting in front of a large setup. Almost like being on a stage during a concert with your banner in the background.
The middle right one I like a lot though. No real complaints on it.
Great work, I'm sure they will be VERY pleased with their logos.
i'm not comfortable how in the first 2 logos (upper row) mic & text are put together ... it feels like text is almost stepping on the toes of mic ... or vv ...
i'd try to put them both on one/common ground/level ... i think to do that you'd need to put them a bit further away from each other ...
i mean, the mic is 3d and text 2, but they seem to occupy same (time and ) space ...
Great Logos!

Thanks Jammo! I think your suggestions are right on and I'll look for another font to substitute for Impact.

I like the way the microphone is the focus in the top right. You can always add color too if the friend wants it.
