Red moon rising.

If any shutterbugs out there need a shot of the moon going through a full lunar eclipse you'd better break out the camera equipment tonight. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until late December 2008.
North and South America, Western Europe, and Africa will all have good views of this eclipse. On the West Coast, partial eclipse will begin about 5:45pm, just as the moon's rising. The full eclipse will begin about 7:00pm and last nearly an hour. Adjust your times accordingly as you go across the continent (and across the side of the globe that will be moon-facing).
