Red Pear Salon
Like I said before, im working on projects in my off time to build up my portfolio. This is a mock company for a hair care/spa treatment place. I tried a bunch of different examples but I would always get too complex trying to incorporate way to many elements and Ive come down to these two. I tried having the whole 'pear' but it made the 'p' unreadable and I couldn’t find an effective way make it legible without making it look awkward. Im not sure if I like the 'realistic' or 'iconic' looking pear. Im leaning towards the right one but maybe adding the curve off the pear from the left.
UPDATE: tried some suggestions!it feels like ive been looking at this for so long even though i havent. not sure if ive taken a step foward or two steps back. most of the time i think too hard about the solution when its something simple. well lemme know.

It sometimes looks like red bear... i'm sorry. I like the design though. It's very professional looking and unique :D
red bear
i read it as red bear also, the only other thing i can really say is that the ones on the right look like the body of an acoustic guitar and not a pear.
very nice start though, i like it overall

I saw red bear first too.
Separate the pear from the logo type. Then I think you will have a much stronger logo.
Let us know what you come up with!

There is no need to make the pear mark part of the "P", it just makes it difficult to read. Separate it as already suggested. Also, I would try some different fonts, I'm not really feeling that the current font fits with the mark.
I think the pear on the left is much better.

Better.
I think it's looking better - I'm liking the direction the bottom left is going. It seems a little too cramped together, like it needs some space. The horizontal alignment of the pear and the title seems a little off.
Also, "salon" would probably be better without serifs, or at least something more secondary to the title.
Keep it up, I think you're definitely getting somewhere. :)

I agree. TONS better. I agree with seraphim, make salon san serif and give it some room/distance from the rest of the logo, just a little bit.
Can you try a version with the icon completely separate from the logotype?

Better, but Not Quite There
As others have mentioned, the word "salon" seems really forced in all of your samples. It's way too close to the other elements. Plus, you're trying to get cute by elongating the "p" in "pear," but why?
The incomplete pear shape itself is something else to consider. Did you try some options with a solid/complete pear shape?
Keep going -- it's getting better but it's not a cohesive logo yet.
