Replicated "Open With" items after OS X migration.
Mintsauce (1004 pencils) | Mon, 2006-10-30 09:44HELP!!! Over the weekend I migrated my "stuff" from my old to my new laptop. I'm running OS X 10.4.8 and have run into this little problem. All my "Open With" items are ducplicated, and some even triplicated. Leaving me with a list that fall to my feet when I click on it.

How do I fix this?

By deleting the .plist files of the adobe applications?
You'll find them by using spotlight.. No worry if you delete them, new ones are being made next time you reboot your computer or start the applications..

Specifically, you need to rebuild the LaunchServices database.
@Tigerstorm - plist ended up being too daunting. thx for the advice.
@thornysarus & apfhex - maintenance 1.0.1 did the job.
