Cableyoyo Review

In the office or on the road, cables are part of our daily lives. Even the ‘wireless’ devices still have wires. Whether its iPod cables, cell phone chargers or data cables, we constantly have to deal with their web of clutter and tangles.
Bluelounge Design has come up with a simple and elegant solution to help solve your cable woes. Its name is the Cableyoyo. Its small and square with rounded corners. It comes in white, black or silver, and allows you to easily manage and store all your low voltage cables. The Cableyoyo can be used with everything from the iPod and USB cables, to mobile and consol gaming devices.

Dominic Symons at Bluelounge Design was kind enough to send Creativebits a review unit. I have had the cableyoyo for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. I am on the go a fair bit, and would always have my cell phone charger and iPod cables loose in my bag. The Cableyoyo has made traveling much more enjoyable. No longer must I untangle and sort through cords. One simply winds the cord around the inside of the Cableyoyo and locks the cable end into place. Its so simple and easy to use - it feels natural. This is sign of excellent design.
Not only is the Cableyoyo useful for on to go, it is also great for in the home or office. The back of the Cableyoyo contains a small adhesive allowing you to fasten the device under your desk, behind your monitor and anywhere else that suits your fancy. Although the adhesive is a great feature many people will appreciate and most definitely use, I am not about to go and stick anything to my lovely Apple Cinema Display or desk.

During my weeks of testing, the Cableyoyo has proven to be quite durable. When I first removed it from its matt black packaging, I was worried that it felt a little brittle. The plastic just seemed rather cheap. However, after weeks of daily use, the Cableyoyo has proven it is a worthy member for all my home and business needs.

What I liked:
- Beautiful design
- Small form factor
- Ease of use
- Versatile
- Plastic felt a little cheap
- Potential risk of markings from adhesive.

Thanks for the review. It seems like a cool little addition to those with a Monica Geller Syndrome. As I understand it doesn't come with a cable, does it? It's just a pully to put any cable around it, right? Would it be useful for my Shuffle?
When oh when will somebody comes up with wireless power, without burning everything in sight of course.
That is correct, it does not come with a cable, it is simply a cable management device. You may find it useful for your Shuffles headphones, or if you use a USB extension cord or Dock cord.

Not literally of course :)
But this little fella (or a few of them) could make my wnvironment at home a little more bearable. What I really need is a neat way to tidy up my power cabling as I only have a small desk and have all sorts blugged in at any one time;
All going in to 2 sockets in the wall which means I got way to many adapters on the go at once. I think a few of these might at least keep all my USB/FW/optical cables tidy to restore some sanity to my workspace ;)
Thanks for the review though!
