GazoPa similar Image search enters open beta
Ivan | Wed, 2009-10-28 00:50Hitachi today announced that their similar image search engine, GazoPa application will begin open beta testing and is available to the public at large. All features are available for test users without log in.
GazoPa is an image search engine that uses characteristics such as a color or a shape extracted from the image itself. In addition to the keyword search capabilities, GazoPa even enables the use of users` own photos, drawings, and images found on the web, as search keys to locate similar images.
GazoPa also released Facebook application "GazoPa book", "GazoPa Drawing" and GazoPa for iPhone application.

Doesn't work good enought yet.
Just wondering, do they keep your images when you upload them? I'm a bit unaware of the dangers.
I gave this some more thoughts. This is excellent to see if your artwork/stock images are being used by other people, once it covers the full internet. Simply upload your artwork and search for simularities. Really nice for people on sites like deviantART.
Google has had a 'similar images' search in beta for months. It has some real promise for the images they have indexed.

Try searching for 'jaguar' and click the 'similar images' link below a selection.
Try searching for 'brad and angelia'... when you click on a image with Brad on the left all of the similar results will show him in the same position.
Impressive, I may have to buy them!
