Joost on Mac

Just got my long avaited invitation for Joost and wanted to share my first impressions.
Installation is a breeze, just like any other Mac application. The very first thing you're required to do when you start the application is to create an account. Your email address doesn't need to be verified or anything like that. You can dive into the experience of full screen TV on your Mac streaming from the internet.
The navigation is extremely easy, I could figure it out on the fly.
Once you select a channel it starts playing almost immediately even though I don't have a very fast connection.
The quality is acceptable for internet streaming, but not as good as cable tv. I guess with time and better internet connection it will further improve. However it's like a million times better than the YouTube experience.
There aren't many channels yet, but I can see the interface designed for many more to come. I don't think it's worth talking about the content yet as the whole thing is in it's development stages, but I must say I found at least 3-4 programs I felt like watching.
I don't have invitations to give out yet, but as soon as I get them I'll be giving them away here, so watch this space!

Only Intel-Based Mac. :-(
I tried it on an iMac Core 2 Duo. I think it needs the power of new Intel chips to run.

Thanks for all those screenshots. They look great.
I've tried Joost only once, but remember it being a very good experience. The interface is perfect.
It made me very interesting in reading about the future of online television. I stumbled upon Shelly Palmer's blog, and he had a pretty good article about internet tv -- called Over the Top.
It's pretty fascinating what Joost (and it's like) will do to traditional, cable TV.

looks like the interface is off to a good start, i'm sure as the beta progresses, the interface will get more and more refined.
everything i've heard about joost sounds good so far. I'd love an invite when you get them, if for nothing else than to watch the World Poker Tour :)

I've not heard a single complaint about it and from reading reviews and watching the previews it is far more refined than I thought.
I wasn't expecting much from Joost but it looks to be a revolutionary step up in the IPTV market.
I have a complaint. The invite widget isn't working properly.
