Charlie D (384 pencils) | Fri, 2005-04-22 15:28Does anyone know where I can find royatly free or at least cheaper rights managed photos of specific cars...For example I am looking for a Hummer H2 and Porche boxster. Anyone have any idea where to look? I tried the usual suspects, getty, corbis...no dice. Thanks.

Are you doing a job for these clients?
Ha I wish.
It's a brochure for a little car rental company that rents what they call "exotic cars" Hummer h2's, porsche boxster, corvettes, dodge vipers, mercedes, etc. Basically the client is trying to shoot these on his own, he just isn't getting it. I tried working with his photos, the only ones that i really need are the h2 and porsche. Found some decent h2s on

thanks for the ronkimballstock site, pretty good stuff their doubt he would be able to afford it but maybe he can be inspired and shoot the photos similar to that site. Thanks for your help.

I could send you high-res images from client library, but I don't think either Porsche or Hummer would allow you to use them or me to send them. Although if I was the marketing manager of Hummer or Porsche I would love you to use it. I'm not sure. Can anyone help me out here regarding the legalities...
Also, I was thinking that you could actually write to both companies and ask for pictures. I think they will provide them. Smart companies, like Apple have such images up on their site for PR purposes.
Have you tried the completely free stock image site Stock.xchng?
It's a free service so the dowload is a bit slow (based on server load), and some of the images are in crappy quality..
here is the link to the site: http://www.sxc.hu
best of luck
