Safari 5.0.3
alanclarkdesign (126 pencils) | Wed, 2011-03-09 23:27I've just updated OS X which included Sarai 5.0.3.
Since the update I was unable to even launch Safari, let alone use it. As a result, I removed completely and downloaded from the Apple site for a fresh install and got the attached message.
Has anyone else had these issues?
Thanks

I'm using OSX 10.6.6 on the computer just purchased in October(?) with Safari 5.0.3 - it came installed. No problems except I really miss Firefox's mouseover thing that shows you the link URL in the bottom corner. Any idea where Safari hides that feature?

You can activate the status bar by hitting command + /
By the way there is a newer version available 5.0.4 from the software update

I had something similar last year and this was quite handy: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20007123-263.html
IIRC I had a plug-in that was playing up and disabling that fixed it. It was a while back so I can't remember which one it was unfortunately.
I just had this problem. By any chance, did you organize your apps and move Safari into a subfolder, instead of keeping it in your root Applications folder? The auto-update doesn't search subfolders for apps, and it causes install problems (however, the manual update on apple.com DOES do this, supposedly). If so, try moving all native apps to the main Applications folder, and re-running the update from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1349.
Hope this helps!
