what it is supposed to be?
Americans? W? What?
I guess your concept isn't working if we're not getting it.
However, would like your synopsis on what it's about. Thanks!

Is there some special significance to your using the old 48-star flag (for so it appears)? I gather this is a political statement of some sort, but it could be taken so many ways. Please clarify.
Mara
It's a flag that says save me. Thats all it is. It's a political message that is all. If it does not come off as something that makes sense immediately, then I assume I failed in it's composition. Which is why I asked.
As for the # of stars. That was just a mistake on my behalf for the choice of the flag image.

Please tell us what the message is.

What I got from it was, save me... save this flag, old glory, from everything it represents: freedom, etc... not sure if that's right. ;)
Yep you win a cookie!
Eh I guess the image is to hit or miss atm.

So this image means save the American flag from freedom? Your project is to advocate repeal of the First Amendment? Interesting.
Mara
No... you misunderstood. It's to go back to what the flag stands for, because his political statement is that all of the things the flag stands for have been taken away. Blah blah.
Well, that makes more sense!
The problem with the simplicity of "Save Me" as the only verbal message here is that throughout the U.S., there's a wide range of opinions on whether or not recent changes in the law have strengthened or weakened the things the flag is supposed to stand for, so no matter who the client is, it's a toss-up whether the ad would be helping or hurting their cause, whatever that may be. I guess it's just too ambiguous, given the context of the real world.
That damn real world. It's just ALWAYS getting in the way, innit?
Mara
The tagline needs to be more specific if you want to actually communicate this idea to others. Save me is too generic.

At first glance, the message I got from it was "Save Me" in the sense of "donate somehow to the preservation of the Old Glory flag in the Smithsonian"
(It's true! A picture DOES contain a thousand words!)
That thought crossed my mind, too, but the one in the Smithsonian (which I think is still down for conservation work) has a lot fewer stars. So I thought maybe some other specific flag (Iwo Jima, maybe?) needed saving.
