Scanning dpi to computer conversion table? 

I need to scan some images in to display at HD res on tv, but in addition to that I need to zoom into the image with out pixelation, do you know of a table that displays the rates of dpi that should be used? 

some images at 1000 dpi will still not do.

Cool! I read it all, hmm,, but nothiing for the use of zooming and TV visage, more of print. 

Anyother lists ? My issue is we have an editor taking images and zooming in at 900% ! in some cases, so I am trying to figure out a comprimise at such insane levels or at least some type of structure we can follow in the future...
