i'm curious, do you have a company name/business name? what kind of business is it? freelance design?
i see the ape head, but i'm really curious what the glossy circle around it has to do with the logo. it's two different styles, one an outline of an ape, the other a web2.ohhh glossy bubble. the bubble has that lighting and all to it, yet the ape head is a flat non shaded, non lit form.
i think you need to redefine the intent. look at the forum history and look up everyone talking about the sketching concepts they have when it comes to approaching a logo design. that might help also.
If not, I don't understand your concept. Maybe mention the name of your company/business? Why you designed a blue gorilla? I can't tell if you have a good start or not without some of these details.
It kind of reminds me of napster, in a way. Maybe it's the blue animal thing. It also seems awkward to have part of it's head overlapped by the circle - takes away the button effect.
i saw you posted in the forum for a portfolio crit from people. seems you have the name fistpumpdesign going. you're name and logo really don't say the same thing. One is saying "we're gonna be a revolution" the other is saying "wildlife needs your help!"
i think you have a great name with fistpump, and you could easily get something going without doing the cliche actual fist pump image, however a gorilla head to me just isn't doing it.
hope this helps a bit ontop of what i said earlier.
The gorilla is good, it just loses all meaning when encased in the boring 'shiny gradient circle web 2.0' thing.
We need some more context in order to critique your work. Definitely finish this up and upload again but next time do it in black and white first, without any blends/gradients. You want to start at the most basic level, with no colors to distract from the logo itself, so you know your logo will reproduce well in any media and at any size.
Look at famous logos for examples. Nike swoosh? No gradients. IBM? No gradients. Creative Bits? No gradients in that logo either. That should tell you something. :)
Creativebits is a blog about creativity, design and Macs. We also have a critique section where you can post your work to get opinions and a forum to discuss any design related topics.

Thanks guys. I will redesign. I just thought the gorilla was a cool look I guess. Thanks.
