A sexy font
aitchmal0ne (220 pencils) | Tue, 2009-10-20 14:16I've just had a client ask me to use a "sexy" font for their ad. What in the world is considered a "sexy" font?!?!?!?!?

i think you're asking the wrong people. you need to ask your client exactly what they mean. ask them for an example of what they've seen that looked like a "sexy" font to them, because "sexy" can mean different things to different people.
I can safely say there is no such description.
You can show him these :)

Ask him what feeling he wants to convey or how would it sound in speech what he wants to say. Then you can match the tonality to a font. We can help you with it too.
Nice dingbats on that page, thanks Ivan!

By sexy I think he means a font curved and stylized, but that what I think! you should definitely ask him for the correct meaning of sexy!
But you can send him some examples of fonts like Scriptina, Airstream or Banff.
Hope this works.
No need to be so literal, Ivan! :)
I had an Advanced Typography professor who would refer to certain fonts as being sexy. It seemed the criteria were a mixture of aesthetic elegance, symmetry, and small bits of "flourish", like an innovative ligature, a well balanced counter, or a demure serif. Sexy, without being slutty/trashy.
Thanks! I was just joking. :)
By the way your description is great.
How about these? ;)

using sexy as a descriptive word is the same as describing something as nice.
People find different things 'sexy',
Im afraid you are going to have to ask your client to exaggerate his meaning of the word sexy.
16 billion colours and you choose the one i cant create !??!
