Sharponova's tits

I thought that I live in a conservative society, but geez nonsense is happening in Canada! I feel this is wrong to remove a bodypart. Interesting that a flesh wound on a war documenting image will surely be kept unretouched, but a titty is TOO MUCH! C'mon!

Wow this is really funny. Indeed removing a bodypart is wrong, but does that really count as a major bodypart? Besides, I think the pic would not be released if it was not edited. LOL I clicked on the forum topic and I was thinking, maybe I should ask Ivan to ban this or something. Who knew, you were the one behind it! I think this is really an illustration of how far we should go when retouching photos huh?

Anyway, where did you get the original pic, and are you sure it's not the "before" pic which was photoshopped?

Sorry, I forgot. Here is the source and via.

If you want to see some of her nipples, I think you'll find success on the web. This was probably done either out of respect to her or for the children! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

Ivan's picture

I'm having hard time understanding why is it a problem with the before picture, but I understand that in a conservative society children may be affected.

As a Canadian I should point out that Canada really couldn't be called conservative if compared to nearly any nation in the world. As I now work in the US it is obvious that the USA is FAR more conservative than Canada, and Canadians are known for being extremely liberal.

I highly doubt the nipples were removed for any reason besides trying to make the image a little more "sharapova" centric and less "sharapova's tits" centric. I know when I see her, well...there are certain things I look at, she's beautiful.

If I wanted to look at nipples I wouldn't be reading a sports mag no?

I think in magazines that are actively read by children this and anything like it SHOULD be covered or removed, if it was a magazine for adults I could live with it but not if its deemed as child friendly, thats deception to parents.

Lame...you really think that's going to damage a child somehow? You'll find a lot worse in public.

It won't really damage a child or anything, but its just kind of weird I guess. In my society, we still have a lot of remnants of the Chinese conservative ideologies, so this sort of thing is a definite no-no. Same goes for predominantly Muslim countries, I think.

That is Singapore you're talking about right? Interesting... Thanks for sharing your views guys!

OK. That's what I though. So, this example is just a rare exception. Thanks for clarifying that.

In the Netherlands you would never get rid of that kind of thing!
You wouldn't even cover it if she didn't have a top on...

Yeah most of the daily papers here in England have a staple need for celebrities and their disclosed assets .. most kids get their fish and chips wrapped in half naked girls sprawled across the pages of the Sun and Daily Sport.. and we're supposedly a prude nation.

I think the issue was the fact 99.9% of the time it would have been changed and no one would have known the difference. This 0.1% instance got people all up in arms because it was on a huge billboard outside the stadium and in other promotional stuff. Odds are if no one said anything and they left it no one would have cared, but given they made a big deal about taking down the exisiting advertising and replacing it, that's why it got the press. And fact is, would anyone watch women's tennis if there were no boobies? If there weren't it would be men's tennis, and no one really likes watching men's tennis anyway.
