Shawn Kirchner is a musician in Southern California who has accomplished much recognition. He is a musician for the Los Angeles Master Chorale and has contributed with many classical compositions. I will also be designing his website. I fell in love with Trajan Pro for this and I want to keep it simple and fine. He likes the logo. Most of the website and further work will happen with black and white.

So this is the final logo.

I think it works. It fits the subject. I would add a bit of small design element somewhere to make the whole thing special. Something subtle that somehow represents his art. Maybe just a small ornament.
Probably not like a Treble Clef though...

By the way Ivan, what is the best way to refresh the front file (the one in display) of my current critique? When I attach file and upload the new one it doesn't refelct the changes.

Nice work, agree about adding something, maybe a diagonal curvy line might work?
My only problem is that many people have tried to keep it simple and have just used plain ole Trajan Pro. Just the smallest adjustments to the type can create a unique and personalized togotype. But right now it just reads as generic and boring. Trajan is a great font, so use it's greatness to extend beyond it's overused applications.
I must say thank you though for not doing any reflections, gradients, or all around aqua-ifying of the type. So many people say they want to keep something simple, then they go adding gradients and crap, and then the logo just loses all of its class.

Nice and clean and i agree with Ivan a very subtle graphic device maybe as an embilishment on one of the letters reflectig the art. Personally i would chose a different font for the Composer... text i thing Trajan is used enough there.

I love it. Very clean, very nice indeed. Good font choice. I agree with the need for some sort of graphic. How about just a five-line staff in .25 pt or .5 pt in the space to the left of "Composer & songwriter" and in the same tint? (no notes, just the staff).

I love the simplicity of it. It's very stylish and appropriate for a composer. I have to agree with the others though, it needs some sort of flourish. I saw your design and immediately thought of this...

the kerning in "shawn" looks a bit off. Watch your space between the S and the H and then the W and the N. Once you adjust those, you may need to tweak the rest too. (actually the H and the N in KIRCHNER could be tightened up a bit too)
I agree that it needs some sort of flourish too. Not a big fan of the one used above as it brings the eye away from the logo. I like the text right-aligned, add the decoration to the right of the sub-heading "Composer and Songwriter".
