Viridian (66 points) | Mon, 2005-01-10 21:53Greetings from snowy Maine- :D
I finally may have a web site project that will need a shopping cart. I am no programmer, so I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for shopping cart tools that ae easy to use. I use Dreamweaver for most of my site building.
thanks everyone!

osCommerce is great for a medium sized store, Paypal can be used for smaller setups. Interchange is a bit more robust i'd say, it can be used for larger stores. As always, www.hotscripts.com has a fantastic selection of other shopping carts if you're looking for something different.
Since you aren't a programmer, the easiest method I've come across for emplementing a diverse shopping cart system is Miva Merchant. Granted, it's not cheap, but it is very powerful and user friendly. And it's all web based cart management - no programming required.

I was just about ready to order a Yahoo Merchant Soultion ecommerce
account but guess what...They have an extension that works seamlessly
with Dreamweaver MX BUT is ONLY FOR Pee Cees!
That pisses me off big time...I called them and told that most
web designers have Macs!
They told me however that I can still integrate my site and manually insert the cart tags...can anybody confirm this please?

You will know fear...Then you will know pain.
Then you will use a Mac.
Thanks everybody!
I will hold onto this info-- My client may just keep her products whoelsale. She's worried that if she sells online, her retail accounts will have a fit (a vailid point).
I do appreciate having this forum to come to with questions! :D
