sIFR 2.0: Rich Accessible Typography for the Masses
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you could put ANY typeface on your page, instead of the boring old Helvetica and Arial, blah blah blah, and yet without using images? I remember the first time I was exposed to HTML, I tried putting a beautiful typeface into a webpage. I viewed it on my computer and it looked great. Soon after I realised that I could only use the default fonts so that everyone else could see them.
Now, there's a solution! Yay! This method basically replaces the h1, h2 h3 classes and so on with a flash file, they use java and CSS and flash to get the text over using variables and a whole lot of other stuff which I still don't understand yet. Pretty cool eh? The Javascript and actionscript involved is crazy, but you don't have to worry about that, this is pretty simple to deploy and use.
Sure beats having to open PS and change the text everytime you need a new title... See it in action in the sites below:

I seem to remember this guy used to blog here that was working on that. Not sure if he's still around, but its a great use of flash. Drives me nuts how nobody has come up with a solution before this.
