similar logos

I just noticed this Fallen Footware logo in a skateboarding magazine and thought it looked an awful lot like the funkmaster flex logo. I don't know who had the logo first, (I'm guessing funkmaster), but I just thought I'd share. Anyone else know of some really similar logos being used commercially by different companies?
I know we're all inspired by what we see, but sometimes they just seem too similar to be accidental.
PS. I just pulled these logos directly from each company's website and threw them next to each other for posting on here. They're almost the same exact size too. I didn't resize them at all. kinda funny coincidence.

Quark redesigned their logo 9/05 and relaunched a new design on 3/06 because of the uproar over it looking so much like other logos. Google "quark logo redesign" to read all about it

Pales in comparison to the uproar over their product sucking so bad. :) Just had to put that in there. He he.

... I suppose that one could have copied the other. But it isn't unheard of that two different designers have ended up creating similar things (I mean, not everything can be ground-breakingly-new _all_ the time?).
I'd hate to judge either one or the other without having all the facts on the table, but yes, they are similar. On the flipside: it doesn't have to necessarily mean anything. :)
Fallen Footwear logo has always reminded me of Van Halen's mark
