Simply Women
Sensible (19 pencils) | Sat, 2009-08-15 11:18This is a poster from a campagin telling about characteristic woman habits. You know "The Universal Declaration of Human Rights". This one is a "Universal Declaration of Woman Habits" in a visual way.

I simply don't understand it. Are you saying shopping is all on women's mind? Isn't it a bit degrading? :)
Nah, this is not a single poster campaign. There will be many posters representing different habits.
And, they are born whith shopping bro :)
Hmm, not quite sure what I think (looking at the art part of it). Around the bag handle there are some white area's, where the background is gray. It's a nice illustration, but the fact that there is no hair, just throws me off. It makes the face appear a lot larger than what it should really be. And the way the back of the neck is, makes it seem like she has a fat neck, it should curve more, than you could possibly flow into the bag.
Hey, thanks a lot :)
I'm working on the points you said, I'll post a new one when it's finished.
Edit:
This is actually pretty tasteless.
Artwise the composition is terrible ( why are the words simply women partially covered anyways? What's with the odd cropping?) The piece is bland, the woman looks like a freak of nature (shopping bag for a head, really?) And if this was an actually piece for a client I'm sure D&G would LOVE to have their name associated with this. I barely glanced at the thumbnail for the other "poster" and can tell you right now these are poor executions of even poorer concepts, "bro".

Hmm well I won't take as harsh a stance as leaky penny. Speaking purely on the aesthetic side of things, I'd say I enjoyed this piece. I like the medium(is it a watercolour?) you've used and always enjoy pieces that combine digital and other media.
I think however, that the leading on the "A universal" could be increased a tad bit. Also, let only one of the words be cut if any.
The arrangement of the words reminded me of escalators in a mall so maybe do ads on escalators to write the title. Random thoughts. Otherwise good work. Don't think you're doing yourself any favours with the fairer sex though. lol.
Let me add my voice to the others that have already been heard here.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
And I really, REALLY mean it.

It's really shocking and should be avoided
MY Simply Women series would depict the following:
1) Giving birth; even to an ungrateful wretch who has grave misconceptions about women.
2) Bone-weary and coddling a crying babe.
3) Kissing the cold forehead of their dead mate as he lies still in his final resting place.
A little of a reach, I know, but hell still worth exploring.

Prepare to spend your life alone, my friend.
That said... from a purely artistic standpoint I see potential in the drawing. There's a style that could evolve into something if you ever get over her.
