Skew text in photoshop
Hi all, been lurking for a while but finally joined in hopes of finding an answer to a question that seems too tough for me or my colleagues.
I need to find out if Photoshop CS3 is capable of creating the same kind of skew effect for type on a path that Illustrator and Indesign can.
Here's an example: The same background in both images, but text created in Indesign for one and Photoshop for the other. Using the Skew text option in Indesign causes all the letters to align vertically, and look like they "belong" on the seat. Photoshop does not seem to have the ability to do the same. I've tried using Free Transform>Skew on the path, but no luck.
The text has to remain editable, or i would simply rasterize it and go from there. I will be using scripts to replace it with a list of different names for variable data printing.
Any Help?

The only problem I see you having is using the wrong apps for the different elements of your design. Do the text in Illustrator and layer it with the Photoshop file in InDesign. Or you could place the Photoshop file in a layer under the text in Illustrator and save it as a single file, either for use on its own or to place in InDesign. All the CS apps are designed to work together in this way. Why are you fighting it? :-)

Easiest way is to make your text on a path in illustrator & copy/paste into photoshop choosing to paste as shape layer. That way it's scalable in photoshop.

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to find out if I can make the scripts work for illustrator and drop the image under the text... I've tried doing as you said smartgraphix, but then I can't edit the text as text anymore... it's a vector object.
Thanks again!
