Some Keyboard keys stop working from time to time
cherokeetaw (7 pencils) | Fri, 2008-02-22 18:00This has happened to me a few time, out of the blue some of my key strokes and key wont work. But after a while, they begin to work again.
Example, In Illustrator. when i go to resize an eps proportantly by holding down the (Apple/Option/Shift) kes, it will not reduce/enlarge in proportion.
At the same time, when i go online and want to play a simple game(for exaple a racing game that you have to use the arrow keys) some of the keys wont work!
If you have had this problem and know how to fix it, PLEASE HELP!
Ive tried exchanging Keyboards but the problem presists!
It has to be a settting or an problem with the MAC!

Apparently Entourage screws with your key combos. .. sometimes. . . I have never witnessed this myself but someone on a forum had said this a few years ago.

I didnt put it together until i got your email, but i was having trouble with Entourage just an hour before i started having trouble with my key commands.
I just shut down Entourage and i got my commands back. THANKS AGAIN!
Now i know the problem, I can work from there!

I was actually guessing! I guess THERE IS a problem with Illustrator and Entourage! This is the first time I've heard about it "in the wild" Like I said someone had mentioned it to me but I NEVER actually saw it in action NEITHER did I know that it worked.
Can yo give more details on the fix? What you did to resolve the issue?

Actually all i did was shut down Entrauge and while it was off, I went to Illustrator and all the key strokes worked. So i turned Entrouge back on and Illustrator was still working. My plan is, when Illustrator acts up again, Ill sut down Entrouge and see if it still fixes it!
