Specialised envelope size
Schooleydoo (6 pencils) | Wed, 2008-01-30 16:24Hi,
Come across this forum via Google and fell in love with the business card design below (found here - http://creativebits.org/cool_business_card_designs). I am really struggling to find the envelopes or packs in the size though, does anyone know of a company they could recommend?
Thanks in advance :o)

This paper looks like French Speckletone to me. Probably it was a custom print job. The envelope is cut out with a die on the press, then glued and folded -- I forget the name printers have for that process. It's fairly expensive.
A less expensive option would be to find a printer who would be willing to print directly onto small envelopes supplied by a company that has those small-sized envelopes florists use for gift cards. Look for a small mom-and-pop shop with an old letterpress. Be careful that the design you want printed on the card stays clear of double thicknesses that could make the ink print unevenly.
This is a really pretty card, isn't it? I can see why you fell in love with the idea.

ps: Their Web site is disappointing. I was surprised.

Thanks Mara, florists are an excellent idea.
I was also suprised with their site. The cards must have had a lot of hours and money put into them, for it all to lead to a website with less info on it than the card in the prospective customers hand!
