Spiritual
Cameron (34 pencils) | Tue, 2009-11-24 18:15This is going to be used as a promotional yard sign, printed on corrugated plastic. approx 18" x 24"
The purpose is to increase local awareness for a weekly group meeting.
They need a sign that uses the restaurants colors and logo which is the reason for the blue grungy fuel logo.
Also they want the time date and location to have proper emphasis above the rest of the verbiage.
Let me know what you think, thanks.

I like the font choice for the spiritual however fuel doesn't feel right. Tuesday I feel stands out way too much. If I was looking at the poster I would want what its all about to grab my attention not what time it is.
Meh.

All of that bottom info is fighting for attention. Think of ways to reduce the amount of text and convey the same message - ie:
Refuel your soul! (large, blue, one line)
Spiritual Fuel (as you have it)
Tuesdays 7:15am (as is)
In the back room of Fuel blah, blah (smaller)
Spend a half hour meditating, contemplating etc... details, details (even smaller at the bottom)
Hierarchy is key in this piece, but I think colours, shapes, something, is needed to give this sign a little oomph. you want to attract peoples' attention, and right now, it isn't. At all.
Have fun with it!

Dude - it's religion. There's no "fun" involved. :-)
You're misinformed.

Well sadomasochists think pain is "fun" so (as always) you can consider this... jmho. :-)
This thread has the potential of getting VERY raunchy VERY quickly.
*sigh*
Too bad we're a family oriented show.

Speaking of family orientation - my dad is a deacon. Seriously.
Misinformed... too informed... one or the other... :-)
That's probably true. From my experience both are true at times... unfortunately.

Personally, I think the "Spiritual" type doesn't work. It completely clashes with the rest of the design. The mind-set that all things "Spiritual" are scrolly is a little outdated.
What age group is this meeting (and sign) focussing on? Are the meetings like and old age home prayer meeting (quiet and soulful) or are they vibrant (with open discussion, contemporary worship and young people)?

Thanks for the feedback, I would assume a 30's and up crowd. The grungy fuel thing is the restaurants specific logo and color they use so i can't do much with that.
I will mess with the hierarchy a bit, and come back with an update tomorrow.
thanks again.
While you're at it, nobody mentioned margins, but you could add a larger margin, give some breathing space.
