I need to know more about the company to make a full critique. Can you tell us more?
Only thing I can tell you now is that you need to simplify your icon. All of those circles are too much. Did you think about getting rid of the back layer of shapes? That would make the logo less confrontational and more personable.
I agree with the other poster regarding simplifying the logo (just take off the back black circular things. I really like the front part of it. Very cool way to represent a camera. I'd also find a different font. Maybe a font that is rounded on it's edges to give the same feel that the camera has. You may even want to make your own font with the same shapes and see how that comes out.
I have to dissagree with the font... i reall like it, although you need to fix the kerning on it...
Don't change the font... it's a classic and it'll help if you want the logo to live longer. Use a trendy font, and it will go out of date.
About the illustration... loose the black background ... and fix the alignment of the smaller items in the logo, they don't quite fit.
But I like the way your logo is heading... it's strong and it will work small and big. I also like the fact that its BW ... you can always add color later.
I love your graphic! Maybe try to integrate it into the negative space with the company name... Hope that helps. - B
