Info: I aimed to portrait the hurt that is caused by family abuse through a child's innocence and naiveness.

but I think it needs a darker execution. why is the sun shining? why are they holding hands? at the moment I see the 'not beautiful' idea behind the portrait is realised in the physical drawing of it, but is not strong enough in the subtext and overall tone. (are they bruises on the girl and the mum? - i can't see clearly) This is a good start that could turn into something very effective.
vinylsofa makes some good points. Red is also a color used for optimism, however theres nothing to help balance it. Try not to stereotype either in your drawings. Be as safe as possible, and maybe that will help you land the next phase. all the best..
