its fun. i like the candle/paintbrush in the negative space ; ) though im not sure of its significance?
but i do agree that design looks like a separate item. maybe thats what you were shooting for? have you tried working them more together?
sorry, what means "naux"? I know "faux"...
yes I'm brazilian xD
Qwerty beat me to it.
Design-wise I don't get it either. The brush is nice, but not very relevant unless you plan on going the Van Gogh route.
There are a lot of elements at play:
Simplify these down as any one of them (apart from, perhaps, the 'design' word at the end) would make a good starting point.
At first glance it looks like it should be cool, but it's a little off-putting. I couldn't put my finger on it, but I totally agree with Alex.
Sometimes fewer ingredients yield stronger flavors.
Hahaah, well newnaux is the inversion of my real name.
So i think i got to remove the design word at the end. As for the paintbrush, i couldn't think of anything to describe a designer. So a paintbrush would be suitable to describe the field - Arts ?
ok naux let's go! xD
agree with Alex.
I think the top 'n' don't convince me even you made it to create the same shape as bottom one and result an unnecessary negative space shape. That double 'n' plus side oblique cut effect not added any value to connect with hided paintbrush concept. There is a 'break of deal' situation that create a 'wtf' argue for public. I consider it too much contrast between concepts on a single logo.

Alright!
I've updated it. Cut down the elements to the jostling font and negative space.
the kerning is awful...up negative and bottom positive... and that "a"+ "u" maybe cant touch themselves if same color (remember Fedex 'd'and ''E" are different colors) and you have no reason to paint like that...maybe a serif is needed....
