This is a logo design that is based off of a animated logo for my studio. Since I've never really made a logo before please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Animation.
Using the wrong font for one thing. You should never use that font in a logo unless you're King Arthur. The cheese by itself would probably work better. And instead of reversing the knife where it goes into the cheese, use an outline of the knife to show where it impales and have the knife all black.

the font is illegible. and over-kerned. you have to work to read it. that's a bad thing.
the little... is that a bug?... the little bug... too small, too difficult to understand what it is.

Kerning needs some work - but you get the idea. Then you have little animated mice come out of the letter holes, pick up the cheese and carry it off screen.
If you're going to go crazy... go crazy. :)
really more funny and light than gothic :)
