Stylistic help needed
Ivan | Wed, 2005-05-25 18:52We're having a costume party tomorrow and the theme is 60's. We were thinking to dress up as hippies with my wife. I know Woodstock was in '69, so I guess it should be ok right? Or is hippie culture only associated with the 70's? Don't reply if you're below 60yo. :)

Didnt the beatles start their success in the 60's (1964 if my knowledge from Music history serves me well)
maybe you could be one of the beatles and your wife a screaming fan ;)
or what about 1969 - you could be spacemen, neil armstrong landing etc...
.... i think you're better off with hippies :-) hehe

... began in the mid '60's. While I'm not quite 60 years old, I had an early adulthood. ;-o

Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin would be perfect - and recognisable - iconic 60's characters to dress up as.
You could always dress up like you're in the service and your wife could go as a massively pregnant lady (think: the baby boom).
See this site that shows the kind of clothes they wore: http://www.nostalgiacentral.com/pop/fashion60.htm
Great ideas! Thanks a lot! Baby boom he? I'll have to see what she will say. :)
And don't forget to take pics! :)
