Its alright, I find it a litle hard to read. Due to the text effects it seems blury and won't be easy to read when smaller.

Do you think it would look better with sharp edges, and maybe slightly larger, with white cloud-like frosting along the bottom?
I think the text could be more professional if it did not have the texture on it, just plain color. Also I would read better in the words were more compact, like having them on top of each other, because I think those words are too long to be spread out like that.
Hope it helps.

I just think it's okay, nothing more. Not really loving the text effects at all, and not even the choice of font. I think you should not worry about the layout of the words, having them on top of each other might not make a better layout.
Not the type of logo you whould notice in a crowd but who is to say all logos should be noticable? Only one question, what is that object in the middle supposed to be.. is it a city, a rock?

It's a city. The texture is the ocean - it's not really that big of a deal if it's not standout, as it is just to have something on my page to link to from websites I've made. Thanks for the (second) critique guys/girls! Hey, I like it anyway :)
Sorry to seem negative but the most important thing is that you are happy with your own work, who cares what other people think. We should be making designs just for ourselves, not to please other people.

I like it, but not crazy about it. I like the colors and the feeling of it. It lacks an idea. I'm sure there will be a market for this look. Some people can very well associate with it. Depends how you take this look further in the other elements of the web page.
I think the problem with the font is that the middle parts like in the lette U are very tight. At the same time you have generous letterspace. This controversy makes it look uncomfortable.
There are other ways of showing "waterness" graphically and if you ever want to produce something for print using that logo and that water texture, it would be a nightmare, also that symbol is really hard to read and adding that texture makes it even more difficult.
Try some different layouts as well, don't get set on just one format of type, symbol, type.

Thank you all, I'm really just beginning at all of this, and your help and comments have been very inspirational to me. The reason I like the water texture is that to me it looks like a 'SUBMARINE SUNLIGHT" shaped window under the ocean, and the city is to represent a coming together of the modern and the eternal, the city and the sea. I don't know, it looked nice in my eyes :). I think maybe everyone sees things a little differently.
The logo is way too wide for any type of smaller application. Try to go more rectangular or 'square' in your shape.
