Suggestions on Logo Design

Any ideas or suggestions regarding this logo I designed? I am looking for something clear and precise and also easily useable on apparel.

For apparell this logo is way too complicated, and in general it's still too complicated.

Focus on doing this in black and white first. Make sure your fonts flow logically. Right now you've got text all over the place, and it seems you're trying to do too much.

Create an icon that's just the seven, or whatever represents the company with as few words as possible; hopefully with no words, maybe just the seven in the circles.

Then worry about putting that icon with a logotype.

For apparel you want the logo to be reproducable small, and in one color, and so that it can be easily embroidered; you pay for 'turns' in embroidery and your logo has way too many of those. :)

It's a start, but you can do way better.

I will make a new logo and submit it. The apparel is not the main issue. I want something clean and memorable. Something that will be easily recognizable by clients.

Thanks for the input.

Yes, but the apparel is part of the more basic issue that your logo is too complicated.

Looks like you got some more critiques here/below and plenty of food for thought. Excellent! I'm sure a rework will bring good results.

What is it exactly that you do? Film editing? It would help to know so as to offer you any possible advice on design.

that logo probably won't get you more logo work.

you need to work up "studio7" as a single piece, then work creative & design in as a tagline separately.

the problem with the overall concept is... well... there's no real concept. or if there is, it's not very strong or very obvious. it looks like a bunch of separate elements lumped together. there's no real relationship between any of them. the typography isn't very strong. you have a huge gap between the three parts of creative and design (what does creative "&" design mean, anyway?). the kerning on the word "studio" is nonexistent. the relationship of 7 to the circle is optically inconsistent. the double circle, one with blue border and one with black border, both of different line weights (and the stroke on the 7 a third weight), seems odd. the letter "g" in the word design overlaps the black border of the inner circle and disappears. the relationship of the white box to the top of the 7 is uncomfortable. the way the white box cuts into the inner circle is awkward (the border disappears, not quite sure what the box really does, other than to separate the text out, and it just looks, well... odd.

i think you need to start over. i know what i wrote above sounds harsh, but there are a lot of issues with this logo, starting with the basic concept. have you done a bunch of thumbnails? do you have a bunch of different concepts? how did you end up with this concept?

Is very good. I appreciate the feedback. I am going to rework it a bit. I feel it's has too many variables in it and doesn't quite flow well either.

In your next slew of concepts, try STUDIO7 together but with a heavier weight on the 7. Or try the design flavour of the year: STUDIO | 7.

Note: STUDIO7 is also made up from seven characters...
