what do you see when you see this logo?
gstrat (5 points) | Fri, 2009-11-20 04:47I made a logo for me. I'm a designer and I want to start doing designs for myself;branding, business cards, banners, logo design..you know design work. I'm gonna experiment with t-shirts. I want to use this logo the way it is and sometimes just use the "CD" image to the left by itself. I chose blue cuz it means trust, but I wanted a lighter, fresher look. Something urban..modern..clean..professional..recognizable and young. I'm new and I've read some of your comments and ya'll keep it real as hell. I like it cuz of the clean lines so it can be used on different kinds of media and basically look the same everytime. And its simple.

Boyle River Outdoor Education needs a new identity, they have asked me to create something adventurous and exhilirating!
Starting with the logo:
I want something that sums up "The Boyle".
The unique selling point is alpine, keywords are mountain, river, challenging, problem solving, alpine, river, outdoor education. Ill try be breif...
Here is what i've come up with.
01. Alpine River Experience: First concept, tying in mountain and river, using a waterdop as the main shape.
02. Adventurous Leader: Symbol of the two mountains from the original logo, giving a more cutting edge adventurous stylisation to it. The larger mountain represents the "leader."
03: Solvig Building: Represents blocks of a puzzle, or a problem needing to be solved ie. How many triangles are in the logo? Also represents building, strong character building.
04: Waterscape: It's a waterscape. Representing Lewis Pass, with the mountains and the river.
Thanks for feedback if you give some!
Lemon Print
captonjohn (218 points) | Thu, 2009-11-19 09:17Problem: To create a brand identity for an upcoming printing firm.
Solution: As per brief, client wanted a professional, unique, modern and vibrant logo. After enough research and brainstorming I provided this solution. Client wanted lemon symbol in logo then we developed this style to give it modern look and avoiding cliche.

Let me know what you think, the good the bad, any of your thoughts.
This can be about the anything from the layout, colours, and expeially samples which should or should not stay.
I need some input from other people in the field, friends and family don't really understand what I do to begin with, so they are limited in their input.
Thanks!
