Text editing

I am a beginner when it comes to illustrator CS, in coreldraw 4x you can click on the text button and then klick on text in a template and easyli edit the text (a window apperars with the present text and I can just replace it with my own) this is a trial however and I am vondering if the same feature is in illustrator CS, I have looked trough the help but I can't find it, please help.

To make a text box, click the text tool and click and drag where you want the text box to be. That will help you with formatting.
Best case scenario would be to not use Illustrator for text at all but use InDesign instead since its text features are more rich and readily available.
