Textpander - Making life Easier

I've been using this utility for about 20 minutes and I'm already a convert. Textpander allows you to make a shortcut for any string of plain/formatted text or pictures. In practice this means entering that regular url, email phrase or picture is just a keystroke away. It installs as a preference pane and a menubar item and allows you to get on with your business without typing out phrases for the ten millionth time in an email. Just pick a short word you would normally never use or a random keystroke.
Best of all it's donationware.

This is just like the schotcuts keystroke/shorthand feature on the Palm platform. Which I use all the time.

Thanks for the link-up

With best regards,

Sounds like the perfect (more affordable and less bloated) alternative to QuickKeys. Thanks for the linkage. I'm going to try it out when I get home.

I use iKey for things like logging into a website by triggering the following text sequence with a key combination:
USERNAME(TAB)PASSWORD(ENTER)

I tried it with textpander but unfortunately that doesn't work.
Anyway great tip. I'll use it in addition to iKey for other things. Thank you!

Can I suggest all of you to try Butler from the same guy (Peter Maurer)? It's an absolute must have. A launcher, a searcher, a finder, a typer and much more in one single app.
