The Apple Club
Doug M. (421 pencils) | Sun, 2008-02-10 04:16I created this for an Apple Club my friend is starting, he decided to let me be the vice president (hehe). So, I made this simple little logo for the club in a couple of minutes. I'd love to get some critique on it, but it really isn't anything humongously important. Just a school club.
Update: How's this? I feel it's a more apple-ish and modern approach. What do you think? Sorry it looks like it is pure black from the image. You have to open the original file because it is in PNG format. sorry.
Update: MUCH better! I think.

The text is too close to the logo and doesn't sit well with it at all.
The colour is pretty awful.
It doesn't really communicate anything about either Apple, or a club.
I'd scrap it and start over.

Sorry, but your 2-minute jobby looks like a 2-minute jobby. The only thing I do like about it is how the "C" curves into the bite mark in the apple.

It's too clunky.

Not that "C" per se, a smoother more cutting edge "C" that would curve and slice into either a burnished metallic copper apple, or a glossy fibre-glassed black one.

Excuse me for sounding silly... what are you going to be doing at this club? Eating apples? Or talking about all things Macintosh?
You do realise that with your position as Vice President you play a vital role in the marketing and advertising of this club, and that two minutes of your time will just not do for something as important as that. The success of this club will greatly reflect on you and will be something you can have in your resume for a long time. I suggest investing a little more time into this logo.
And remember - Mac people are PICKY. That's why we have macs. Use this article -> http://creativebits.org/mac_owners_are_just_like_well_the_mac_guy <- as the basis for your brand identity, and you might get something stronger for next time. And remember to mention that the "Apple" trademark is the property of its respective owners, in this case, Apple Inc.

sorry to say my friend... but its not good

more like poorly cut construction paper. and it should say "no gurls allowed" and be posted on the outside of a treehouse.
I agree, lol. I don't intend for this to be the final logo in any way. I know it sucks.
Yeah, you might want to get rid of this pretty damn quickly.
You're asking people to crit on something, that is trademarked to someone else.
Not the best move to make...

i'm only using it for a school club...does that count as trademark infringement? Plus, I'm only using that Apple logo...is that really infringement? I can make my own...
Look it up. You're still using their logo.
Makes you look amateurish and currently the logo has no concept whatsoever. Think a bit more outside the box, how can you create something that lets people the apple logo, without using the logo itself. Possibly use the iconic leaf shape or incorporating the Bitemark somehow.
In a nutshell, Give it more thought and start over.
